Flapjack is an analog-modelled distortion effect based on an op-amp-clipping distortion circuit, similar to the one found in the Crowther Hot Cake distortion pedal. The effect uses a wave-domain circuit-model to achieve its sound.

The Drive knob controls the amount of distortion generated by the circuit. The Mode knob controls the clipping mechanism used by the circuit, similar to the "Bluesberry" variant of the Hot Cake circuit. The Low Cut and Prescence controls can be used to shape the frequency response of the guitar sound post-clipping. Finally, the ""Volume"" knob controls the output level of the effect.
